Tinubu’s Daughter Declares ‘No Protest In Lagos,’ Urges Market Women To Warn Children

Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, has called on market women to advise their children against participating in the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1-10, 2024.

According to flyers circulating on social media, the protest, titled “End Bad Government in Nigeria,” aims to address issues such as judicial reform, inflation, and the reopening of national borders.

In a video that surfaced online on Sunday, Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja General of Lagos, addressed a group of market women at Dosumu Market. She firmly stated that there would be no protest in Lagos, recalling the destruction that occurred during the EndSARS protest four years ago. She noted that many victims are still recovering from their losses.

She emphasized that the Lagos State Government is performing well and urged for patience with the Federal Government, led by her father. “Before you say a government has not done well, you have to allow them to spend at least three years in office,” Tinubu-Ojo said.

She added, “We should tell ourselves, our children at home, and our family members that there is nothing like a protest in Lagos State. It is not good. Recall the one they did before where they destroyed so many of our public assets. Do not allow your children to be used by some people who give them money to go and start fighting and destroying things.”

Tinubu-Ojo urged, “Let us talk to ourselves. There is nothing like a protest in Lagos State because the government is making us proud. The state government is doing well, and the federal government just came into office. Before you criticize, you have to allow them to spend at least three years in office.”
