Dr. Musa Dutse Gimba, a recent victim of kidnapping, has expressed profound gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and various Nigerian security agencies for their exceptional professionalism and bravery in rescuing him and his family from captivity.

On June 23, 2024, Dr. Gimba, his wife, and their four children were abducted, leading to the tragic death of their eldest child at the hands of the kidnappers. Dr. Gimba’s wife was temporarily released to secure a ransom of N150 million.

After weeks of fear and uncertainty, a meticulously planned and coordinated effort led by ONSA successfully secured the freedom of Dr. Gimba and his three surviving children.

In a heartfelt statement, Dr. Gimba expressed his gratitude: “While we earnestly grieve the death of our eldest son, we are deeply thankful for the opportunity to be reunited with our surviving children. We want to bring closure to this harrowing and unforgettable experience and thank all those who played a role in bringing us to this point.”

Dr. Gimba acknowledged the key individuals and groups instrumental in their rescue: “National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and his office for their relentless efforts, Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Gwabin Musa for his involvement and tireless work, the Kaduna State Government and various security forces, including the Nigerian Army Garrison Commander in Kaduna State, Department of State Services, Kaduna State Command, Nigerian Police Force, Military Intelligence, and the National Intelligence Agency.”

He also extended his gratitude to professional bodies, NGOs, religious organizations, and supportive communities, including the Nigerian Medical Association, Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, Nigerian Bar Association (Kaduna Branch), the University of Jos M.B.B.S. classes of 2004 and 2005, and the 2007 Law class of ABU Zaria.

Dr. Gimba also expressed special thanks to the Great Panaf Schools, Kaduna, and all family, friends, and well-wishers for their unwavering support during the ordeal.

“While this experience has been harrowing and unforgettable, we find solace in the love and support we’ve received from so many. We are deeply grateful to everyone who played a role in bringing us to this point,” he said.
