The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced on Sunday that it has arrested 60 individuals, including 25 males and 35 females, at a drug party in Abuja.
The arrests occurred on Friday night in the nation’s capital following credible intelligence about the event, which was organized by Stanley Ikechukwu. Ikechukwu was also apprehended at the venue.
According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, the drug party, named “Go Hard or Go Home. Pick Your Poison,” took place at an apartment in Sun City Estate, FCT.
“At least six of the suspects, including Victoria Adoga, Hamza Yari, Joanne Essein Joy, Socchima Valentine, Jago Imole, and Charles Indobuibisi, were found with various quantities of ecstasy and cannabis,” Babafemi stated.
Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman and Chief Executive of the NDLEA, has ordered the unconditional release of 20 suspects who tested negative for drugs. Meanwhile, 33 others who tested positive for illicit substances have been released on bail and are required to report to the FCT Command of the Agency on Monday to begin treatment and counseling.
