In accordance with Sections 9, 10, and the second schedule of the Constitution of the Nigerian Bar Association 2015, as amended in 2021, the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has released a formal Notice of Election. This comes following the approval of the NBA NEC at its meeting on February 29, 2024.
Part C – Nomination Forms
Nomination Forms for the election of National Officers of the NBA and/or election of NBA Representatives to the General Council of the Bar will be available for collection at the ECNBA Secretariat, House No 24 Oro Ago Street, Garki, Abuja. The forms can also be downloaded online from the NBA website: www.nigerianbar.org.ng or the ECNBA website: www.ecnba.org starting from 08:00 hours, Monday, March 11, 2024.
The deadline for the submission of completed Nomination Forms and accompanying documents is set at 17:00 hours on Friday, April 5, 2024.
All duly completed Nomination Forms must be physically submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked: ECNBA 2024. Alternatively, they can be submitted through a reputable courier company. The deadline for submission is 17:00 hours on Friday, April 5, 2024. The address for submission is:
TAKE NOTICE
Aspirants and their supporters who have consulted are advised to meticulously review the NBA Constitution 2015, as amended in 2021, to ensure they meet the requirements. The ECNBA is expected to strictly adhere to the constitutional provisions during the candidate screening process. They reserve the right to raise eligibility issues, especially regarding membership of the Executive of a local branch and membership of NEC.
All individuals claiming qualification are advised to attach evidence of their instrument of appointment and election into the said offices.
