Access Bank CEO, 5 Others Reportedly Killed In Helicopter Crash Near California-Nevada Border

In a tragic turn of events, a helicopter transporting Herbert Wigwe, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, along with five other individuals, crashed near the California-Nevada border. While there has been no official confirmation from the bank holding company, sources familiar with the situation have indicated that Wigwe was aboard the ill-fated flight, although the fate of those on board remains uncertain.

Among the passengers were reported to be Wigwe’s wife, son, and prominent business mogul, Abimbola Ogunbajo. The incident occurred shortly after 10 pm (US California Time), with the passengers traveling in a Eurocopter EC 130 helicopter that departed from Palmsprings. The intended destination of the flight remains unclear at this time.

Authorities, including the United States National Transport Safety Board (NTSB), have initiated investigations into the crash, with the NTSB dispatching a team to the scene near Halloran Springs, California. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined, as access to the crash site remains restricted pending further investigation.
