Nigerian Judiciary Thriving Independently, Tinubu Is A Beacon Of Rule Of Law- Alex Otti, Bala Mohammed

The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has thanked President Bola Tinubu for allowing the judiciary to discharge its duties independently which saw him and other governors win their cases at the Supreme Court.

Otti noted that Tinubu’s non-interference in the judiciary has brought about positive results in the country.

The governor spoke to journalists in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, on Friday, shortly after the reaffirmation of his victory by the Supreme Court.

He said, “I want to thank His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for remaining firm to the resolve that the judiciary should be independent.

“If he did not do that, perhaps, some of the judgments and verdicts that were given today may have been different.

“I want to encourage him to continue in that light. I believe that his non-interference in the judiciary has produced positive results in the country today.

“A few places where people were getting ready to burn down places today , people have sheathed their swords because the rule of law prevailed.”

He also said that he will continue to develop all parts of the state in line with the new Abia mantra.

The governor also applauded the judiciary for remaining firm by not allowing the people’s will to be truncated by desperate politicians, maintaining that by so doing, it has proved that it is indeed the last hope of the common man.

He thanked all the governorship candidates, especially those who did not go to court for being supportive.

In a related development, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has described President Bola Tinubu as a true federalist and advocate of the rule of law.

The governor highlighted that, under the Tinubu’s led administration, the judiciary has flourished independently, free from external influence.

This is coming on the heels of the Supreme Court judgment which upheld his election as the governor of Bauchi State.

Addressing the mammoth crowd who trooped to the Government House’s house yesterday to celebrate with him, the governor said: “I’m grateful to the Nigeria judiciary. I’m going to President Tinubu for allowing the rule of law to persist, irrespective of the lies. No amount of mischief will bring us down”

“President Tinubu is a beacon of the rule of law worthy of emulation by all.”

According to him, the outcome of the court case right from the tribunal up to the Supreme Court, has made him have more confidence in the judiciary.
