Alleged Land Dispute: Ex-Minister Of State, FCT Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu Refutes Malicious Publications, Demands Retraction
The former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has asked the public to discountenance her purported involvement in a land grabbing dispute with one Mr Hassan Rabiu in Abuja, using alleged cronies in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The ex-minister who expressed her displeasure over the various false and malicious publications on the issue, in a press statement signed by her lawyer, Chimezie Ogenna Nwodo, Esq. of Law Forte Legal Practitioners, stated that she has “…at all times maintained a stellar career within and outside the public service and as always dealt in good faith and within the ambit of the law.”
She also said that the publications made using her name and picture were full of fabrications and lies without any truth, and were aimed at tarnishing her hard-earned reputation, built over the years so as to drive internet traffic to their website and social media platforms, gain public relevance and do maximum and incalculable damage to her reputation, businesses, vocation and standing in the society.
Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu therefore called on all the publishers of the malicious allegations against her to cease and desist from such further publications, carry out a global take-down of the publications, issue a public apology to her, amongst other demands.

FALSE AND MALICIOUS ALLEGATION THAT DR. RAMATU TIJJANI ALIYU (EX-MINISTER OF THE FCT) WAS INVOLVED IN LAND GRAB
The attention of DR. RAMATU TIJJANI ALIYU, Ex-Minister of State (Federal Capital Territory) has been drawn to various false and malicious publications alleging that she is currently involved in a purported dispute with Mr. Haasan Rabiu, over her alleged use of cronies in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), to hijack Mr. Haasan Rabiu’s plot of land in Abuja. DR. RAMATU TIJJANI ALIYU wishes to state as follows:
1. She is not involved in any purported dispute with Mr. Haasan Rabiu, over her alleged use of cronies in the FCTA, to hijack Mr. Haasan Rabi’s plot of land or any land whatsoever.
2. She is not involved in any dispute whatsoever with Haasan Rabiu with respect to the land allegedly belonging to him or any land whatsoever.
3. She has never met Mr. Hassan Rabiu, nor has she ever had any dealings with him, either by herself, agent, or privies.
4. She has never authorized any person to enter into any agreement, Mou, or any dealings whatsoever with Mr. Hassan Rabiu in respect of any land whatsoever. In fact, she had no knowledge whatsoever of the alleged MOU and or transaction between Mr. Haasan Rabiu and her personal assistant until the allegation was made against her.
5. She has never aided any of her aides, alleged cronies in the FCTA, or any person whatsoever, to hijack any plot of land supposedly belonging to Mr. Haasan Rabiu, nor has she instructed anyone to carry out any act against whatever proprietary interests Mr. Rabiu purportedly has over any land.
6. The allegations published against her as contained in the publications under reference was actuated by malice and bad faith in order to achieve the unfortunate intention of doing maximum and irreparable damage to her reputation, practice of her profession as well as her standing in the society.
7. The malicious publications against her were made despite the clear evidence that she has never met with or dealt with the said Hassan Rabiu.
8. She has at all times maintained a stellar career within and outside the public service and as always dealt in good faith and within the ambit of the law, thus, it is very surprising that an allegation of this nature is being made against her person.
9. The publication made using her name and picture were full of fabrications and lies without any truth, and were aimed at tarnishing her hard-earned reputation, built over the years so as to drive internet traffic to their website and social media platforms, gain public relevance and do maximum and incalculable damage to her reputation, businesses, vocation and standing in the society.
10. The publication of the malicious allegations against her, as well as the use of her name and pictures are highly defamatory, a sign of bad faith and highly condemnable.
11. Her lawyers have written to the publishers demanding the following:
1. Stop forthwith any further publication of the false and malicious allegation that Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, was involved in land grabbing.
2. Cease and desist either by themselves, agents, officials, officers, privies, third party media outfits, social media or persons acting on their behalf from publishing, advertising, promoting, distributing, circulating, this malicious allegations against Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, and the use of her name and image.
3. Carry out a global take-down and or removal of the earlier published malicious allegations against Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, within the next 72 hours, on all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, etc), and traditional media platforms.
4. Issue to our client a public apology within the next 72 hours, and undertake to subsequently desist from making any further publication of such nature.
After the expiration of three (3) days from the date of this letter, if the publishers fail, refuse and or neglect to stop (cease and desist) from the further publication of your allegation that the ex-minister of the FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, was involved in land grabbing and also fail to pull down the publications and apologise to her, she shall take all lawful steps to obtain redress against the publishers.
