CAC Integrates With FIRS To Ease Business Registration
Hussaini Magaji, the Registrar-General of the CAC made the disclosure on Thursday when he visited the FIRS Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji in Abuja.
Magaji added that the CAC and the FIRS were working towards strengthening their already existing collaboration to enhance economic growth.
He explained that the familiarization visit was to enhance the two agencies’ collaboration while describing it as “strategic to national economy.”
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), he further stated the importance of identifying and registering unregistered online businesses to enhance revenue generation for the country.
On his part, the FIRS Chairman, Adedeji said it was important to have an active interagency relationship for the agency to perform better.
He explained that while the duty of the CAC was to register and nurture companies, FIRS allow the companies to mature before assessing them.
He added that the FIRS relied on the CAC to drive voluntary compliance by obtaining data from the former.
He noted that both agencies needed to reinvigorate their existing standing technical committee to interface more often to cement their long-standing relationship and to engender capacity building.
