Update On NBA Medical Outreach In Conjunction With Kebbi State Government And Garki Hospital

 

Dear Learned Silks and Distinguished Members of the Bar,

As you may recall, the Nigerian Bar Association received sponsorship from the Kebbi State government to conduct a medical outreach for lawyers, their families, and indigent individuals.

The medical outreach, which commenced on August 28, 2023, has assisted over 1000 individuals. Among this number, more than 20 individuals have undergone major and minor surgeries and have been admitted to Garki Hospital, Abuja.

As part of the Kebbi State government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and robust process, Her Excellency Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, the First Lady of Kebbi State, personally monitored the project’s progress. NBA President Y. C Maikyau, SAN, accompanied the First Lady during her visit to the medical outreach premises. The First Lady met with the teams of medical personnel led by Dr. Aminu Haliru Bunza S. A on Health to the Governor of Kebbi State and the NBA National Welfare Committee led by Chief Ozoani, SAN, who are on-site to support the dedicated medical team.

NBA President Y. C Maikyau, OON, SAN, has affectionately named the project “Kauran Cares” and has pledged that the project’s funding will be appropriately utilized for its intended purpose.

In return, First Lady Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris expressed her appreciation for the NBA President, the medical team’s efforts, as well as the efforts from the members of the National Welfare Committee.
