A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Emeka Obegolu has called for the standardisation of filing fees in legal matters to ensure more transparency and order in the judicial system.
Dr. Obegolu made the call in Abuja at the Inaugural meeting of the newly formed Garki Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) which focused on the role of the Bar in nation building.
He advocated a published guideline for court filing processes.
The NBA Garki branch chairman, Mr Obioma Ezenwobodo said the branch was established to provide justice to the oppressed in the area.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Paul Harris Ogbole urged the new Bar members to always remember to provide free legal services to the poor and downtrodden as their contributions to the betterment of society.
The NBA Garki Branch used the occasion to honour some of its members and associates who have distinguished themselves during the outgoing year.
