I first met Y. C. Maikyau SAN at the Human Rights Violations Investigation Commission (Oputa Panel), his brilliant and spectacular performance was one of the reasons that endeared and inspired me to study law. I have since then related with him both as a mentor and professionally.
Mr. Maikyau SAN represents the new order of leadership. He believes in creating a vision and causing change through inspiration in his over 30 years of successful law practice. He is a man who believes that lawyers are critical agents of Positive change and sees younger lawyers as pivotal in the scheme. His outstanding record of accomplishments and, in particular, of service, is very much in the public domain.
I have deep conviction that Y. C. Maikyau SAN is best fit for the office of NBA president at this time. He is imbued with the requisite commitment, dedication, reliability, capacity, capability, integrity and character to prioritize the welfare of lawyers (especially vulnerable lawyers), promulgate an all inclusive Bar, institutionalize desired reforms and generally transform the NBA to an entity we will all be proud of.
