Y. C. Maikyau, SAN Attends NBA Ahoada Branch Monthly General Meeting Held On 27th May, 2022

The EXCO and members of the Branch, who were happy to see the Learned Silk and his cortège, gave them a rousing reception. The love and warmth was palpable.  Pictures were taken to mark the occasion.

In addressing members of the Branch, Mr. Y. C. Maikyau, SAN began by  extending his condolences to the Branch on the demise of Hon. Justice Ebeku, who had served not just his people, but the entire Nation. He  reminded them that the scriptures refers to the death of a Christian as sleep because they will rise again on the day of resurrection and that in God’s scheme of things the dead have preference on the last day – they will rise first! He urged the Branch to be comforted, as the deceased has gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mr. Maikyau continued his speech by noting that the call to lead the Bar is a call to service and not for personal aggrandisement or  advancement of selfish ambitions, which requires knowing the peculiarities in dealing with the problems of the Nigerian Bar Association across every branch. He said that the NBA is the only profession schooled and trained to deal with the issues of this Country and that it is in putting our hands on the plough and not looking back that we can deal with those issues.

He further noted that for one to earn the confidence of the public, there is need to earn integrity and that it is not earned by saying it, but by the content of one’s character. He urged all to continue to play their part to take NBA to a higher level.

The Branch Chairman, Mr. Alili Kipe Morris, on behalf of the Branch, thanked Y. C, Maikyau, SAN for coming to visit the branch and wished him well in all his endeavours.
