A statement by Eze in one of the Unity Bar social media platforms reads …

Dear Learned SANs, Seniors, Colleagues and Friends, good morning.

Yesterday I presented myself for Screening by the Electoral Committee of our branch.

I and my nominators met the requirements of the Bye laws  to contest and to nominate, however the committee insisted that my nominators being from the north are not qualified to run for the election and hence I will not be cleared.

I protested, but true to their words, this morning a list of cleared candidates was released and my name was marked not cleared. I do not agree with this position and have subsequently submitted a petition to the Branch Elections Petitions Committee on the grounds that our bye laws did not state that nominators must come from the same zone as the candidates and the committee did not expressly state this much in their notice of electoral guidelines.

I remain in high spirit and urge all my supporters to continue in full mast with our campaigns while we await the decision of the Appeal committee.
