FIDA Has Lived Up To Its Core Values Of Transparency, Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Commitment And Service- Chidi Udekwe Esq.

On the 13th day of April, 2022, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Abuja Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Ministry of Justice, Abuja.

The meeting had an August visitor in the person of Chidi Udekwe Esq. who had the opportunity of felicitating with esteemed members.

Welcoming him and his entourage to the meeting, the ebullient Chairperson of FIDA Nigeria, Abuja Chapter, Chibuzor Nwosu also thanked him for identifying with the association.

While addressing “the Women of Valour” as he described them, Udekwe reminisced on how he has always participated in FIDA activities, particularly their sensitization programs and proudly acknowledged their achievements over the years.

He was of the view that given the opportunity, he would continue to identify and work with FIDA in all its activities for the benefit of its members and Nigerians as a whole.

In his remarks after the visit, Chidi Udekwe stated that he has no doubt that the Federacion Internacional de Abogadas (FIDA) which was created in 1944 and the Nigerian affiliate, established in 1964 to promote, protect, and preserve the rights, interests, and well-being of women and children, has lived up to its core values of transparency, accountability, teamwork, integrity, mutual respect, commitment and service.

He emphasised that although, the primary beneficiaries of FIDA as a non-partisan Association are women, FIDA also works with men in various communities to ensure that gender equality is realized and that women’s rights are upheld and respected in all spheres of development.

He noted that FIDA’s programs have always been educative and enriching in addressing contemporary challenges, especially as they relate to domestic violence and other unfair practices against women and children.

Udekwe extolled the virtuous qualities of FIDA, as a beacon of hope in our society.
