It has been an interesting yet emotional week for me, and yesterday 14th April 2022, in the company of some of my very good friends who over the years have become FAMILY, I had the honour of submitting my ECNBA NOMINATION form at the NBA Electoral Committee Secretariat. The form I submitted was for interest to run for the position of National Welfare Secretary of the NBA
I was honored to have in my company the following: Jibril Jimeta, the Chairman of Yola Branch; Aliu Isah Abubakar, Chairman of Gwagwalada Branch; Tongshishak John Jude Danjuma, Chairman of Pankshin Branch; Okhanigbe F. Eddy, Chairman of Suleja Branch; Yakubu M. Edeh, Chairman Keffi Branch; O.D. Jimoh, Chairman, Arewa Young Lawyers Forum; Audu Umaru, Esq., Financial Secretary NBA Maiduguri Branch, and Welfare Director Arewa YLF; Barbara Omosun Unity Bar; Dayo Ashonibare, Unity Bar, Ada Isamade, Unity Bar; Sani Dawaki, Unity Bar; Dressman, Bwari Branch.
I fulfilled the constitutional obligation of submitting my nomination forms and I would like to state that I would not have come this far without my teeming supporters across the 125 NBA Branches in Nigeria.
The support has been huge and overwhelming . I have seen my name coined into different forms and sounds, it is as amusing as it is humbling.
I have seen you push with me and for me; I have seen you sacrifice your time and resources; I have seen you make this dream a movement, I am humbled but more importantly I am grateful for the gift of you. I could not have asked for better comrades
I thank you all for this Journey, I did it because you walked by and with me.
The next few weeks are most important, and crucial as we would have to push, argue and even fight ourselves ( without any bitterness hopefully), we would have the highs and we would have the lows but I implore us to remember the big picture, to remember the dream and to put in the sickle because the harvest would be worth it.
I pray for strength for us all through this phase and encourage us to charge with resilience, till we go past the finish line.
