Easter Week Reflection By Chidi Udekwe, Esq.

To my beloved Catholic and all Christian Brethren, as the closing days of the Lenten period approach I write to appreciate you for all your efforts at fasting devotedly, praying, sacrificing in many ways in sober and heartfelt reconciliation thereby refreshing your love for God and other humans.

This week, the Easter Triduum begins with the liturgy on the evening of Maundy Thursday (also referred to as Holy Thursday) with its high point on Holy Saturday at the Easter Vigil and closing with evening prayer on Easter Sunday, all recalling the Passion, Crucifixion, Death, burial, and Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus, as portrayed in the canonical Gospels.

I urge you to remain steadfast and strong for a successful conclusion and pray God Almighty to reward your piety, remove temptations and pains from your lives and indeed accompany you and yours lovingly through the rest of your lives in Jesus mighty name, amen.

For those of us who intend to travel during this period I wish you Godspeed and all of God’s protection promises in Psalms 91 and 121 to go and celebrate happily and to return to us.

For others remaining within jurisdiction we shall see at our respective places of worship and more importantly on Easter Sunday at our Homes to enjoy the delicious delicacies evidently planned for the exhilarating celebration of the resurrection of our Lord!

Happy Easter in advance and God bless us all!!!
