Lawyers Ask Osinbajo Not To Hesitate To Declare For Presidency In 2023

A group, Osinbajo Grassroots Organisation (OGO), in conjunction with other groups, including the League of Lawyers for Osinbajo and Nigeria Ask for Osinbajo, have unanimously beckoned on Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo not to hesitate to declare for presidency in 2023.

It asked the vice president to heed the call of many Nigerians to contest for the seat of president in the 2023 general election or they will sue him.

The decision of the group was declared at a press conference held at Premier Hotel, Ibadan, Oyo State, tagged, “Osinbajo: South-West Ready.”

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Director-General of OGO in Ondo State, Honourable Sulaimon Maito, noted that following the group’s scientific and credible opinion poll, it is a thing of joy to see and hear how acceptable Vice-President Osinbajo is across the ethnic and religion divides as the most credible and suitable candidate for the presidency.

“On behalf of the people of the South-West, we want to thank all Nigerians from the North and South, Muslims, Christians and animists who have embraced Professor Osinbajo as the symbol of the new tribe; a representation of the new Nigeria that we all yearn for.

“Having traversed the length and breadth of Nigeria, meeting and talking to men, women, old, young, educated, uneducated, farmers, artisans and professionals, we are more than convinced that Professor Osinbajo is the most acceptable Nigerian to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023,” he said.

Director-General of the Osinbajo Grassroots Organisation, Ekiti State, Honourable Femi Adeleye, at the press briefing hinted that the vice president would officially declare his ambition for the presidential seat for the 2023 general election.

Also, the coordinator of the League of Lawyers for Osinbajo, Abioye Akerele, stressed that concerned Nigerians would not hesitate to petition and as well sue Professor Osinbajo if he refused to adhere to the request of Nigerians to contest the presidential seat.

Akerele noted that Professor Osinbajo has a pedigree of a suitable candidate Nigerians will never regret, just as he urged Nigerians to allow a lawyer to attain the seat of the president for the first time in history.

“Irrespective of any humility that he may possess, I can assure you that lawyers are ready to petition him and sue him, in case he resists complying with our yearning. Lagos State was created in 1967 and, to the best of my understanding, he is the best Attorney-General Lagos State would ever have and he has been outstanding as the vice president of the present democratic dispensation.

“I want Nigerians to continue with the pressure to make him say yes to the call to serve,” he added.

Other members of the group in attendance at the briefing were Director-General of the OGO in Lagos State, Mr Olusoji Owoeye; Director-General of the OGO in Ogun State, Chief Samson Oderinde and the Director-General of the OGO in Oyo State, Princess Adetutu Aigbe-Adeyemi and the national convener, Sylvanus Foluso Ojo, among others.
