May I on behalf of my firm and colleagues, congratulate the Young Lawyers Forum, Maiduguri Branch for putting together this Seminar for the benefit of her members. It is worthy of note that the Forum is known for being proactive and providing an enabling environment for professional development of her members via intellectually stimulating seminar presentations such as this one. The topic of the- “Displacement and Resettlement in Borno State ; Legal issues on Land Dispute and Resolution” is apt and critical concerning the Humanitarian crisis occasioned in Borno State as result of terrorism and insurgency.

I am convinced that the collaboration with the Norwegian Refugees Council (NRC) has imparted positively on the attendees. More so, the need to enlighten members of the legal issues on attendant Land disputes and its Resolution resulting from the peculiar nature of the state caused by insurgencies. Permit me to also state that I find it a pleasant honour to identify with the YLF, Maiduguri Branch. It is my prayers that NBA YLF in Maiduguri will continue to wax stronger and be the torch bearer in the drive towards the attainment of an ideal democratic society.

Once again, I congratulate the YLF NBA Maiduguri Branch, and I wish the entire members of the Forum and all participants, a fruitful Seminar.
