Why Moses Ebute, SAN Is The Man For Unity Bar Chair By Anthony Idoko, Esq.

Let me congratulate all the members of the Unity Branch for the unity and understanding amongst members so far. We are also immensely grateful to God for helping us overcome the grief and anguish we went through as a result of the unfortunate demise of our former amazon and Chairman, Dr Hauwa Shekarau.
I am also using this opportunity to thank profusely our Vice/Acting Chairman who has been holding on very well despite the unnecessary and avoidable political storm that was generated on account of the passing of our former Chairman. The Acting Chairman has understandably set up an Electoral Committee to conduct election to the said office and bring the matter to a closure.
THE WAY FORWARD
The general consensus among members currently is that we do not need to hold a traditional election the way we are used to since the new Chairman has just about 6 months from January 2022 when he takes office before we have our next general branch elections.
There should be a consensus arrangement to save us a predictable rancour and misunderstanding that usually attends this type of election and also to save the branch and the distinguished Electoral Committee members time and money.
What we truly need at this time is a matured and come-at-able leader who can helm the affairs of the branch from where we are today to the end of the time of this current administration.
It is on this wise that the Learned Silk Moses Ebute, SAN has come highly recommended to many members of the Branch particularly those of the Northern extraction who are being called upon to fill up the vacancy that has been created.
Ebute, SAN has maturity, experience and influence that comes readily handy at this auspicious time in the life of the Unity Bar.
Furthermore, he demonstrated how deferential and obsequious he is when he had to bend back to allow our former Chairman to run unopposed after he was prevailed upon by the branch Elders to do so. He obliged without taking offence. And even though he was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria shortly after that election, a good number of members believe that a man who has demonstrated such exemplary character, should be asked to step up unopposed to finish the remainder of the current tenure of this EXCO.
Jim George, the great American author once said “It is not how we start that’s important, but how well you finish”.
We all can attest to the fact that this EXCO started very well with recorded achievement within a very short time. However, we need some one who can help us finish well and strong. MOSES EBUTE, SAN we believe is that man!
God bless the Unity Bar!
