The Anaocha branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has postponed its scheduled Law Week.
In a statement signed by Kaine Ananwune, Chairman of the branch and Chris Adimora
Chairman, planning committee, the shift was attributed to the threat of a violent lockdown to be imposed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Friday, 1st October, 2021.
The newly proposed dates are as follows:
Thursday: 7th Oct 2021
Breakfast by 8am. Opening ceremony by 10am
Friday: 8th Oct. Commissioning of the Bar Center of NBA Anaocha Branch by 3pm
Cocktail Party to be hosted by the Chief Judge of Anambra State by 6pm
Gala nite by 7pm at the Dikeizu Manor, Obeledu to be hosted by Chief Emeka Obegolu FICMC
Saturday 9th Oct 2021
Breakfast by 8am
Quarterly meeting of the Eastern Bar Forum by 10am
Dinner/Award conferment by 6pm at Golden Tulip Resort Agulu.
