NBA Abuja Branch Declares 3 Days Mourning, Opens Condolence Register In Honour of Late Chairman, Dr Hauwa Shekarau

The Abuja Branch  of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has declared a 3 day mourning period in honour of its Chairperson, Dr Hauwa Shekarau, who passed on Wednesday.

In a statement signed by the branch Secretary, Prince Adebiyi Adetosoye and made available to The Metro Lawyer (TML), the period is effective immediately, to terminate 18th of September, 2021.

“As a result of this, all activities, programmes and projects presently scheduled for this period, are immediately put on hold till further notice”, the statement read.

In a related development, Publicity Secretary of the branch, Ikemefuna Onyeka has announced that burial arrangements for the late Dr Shekarau will be communicated as soon as the family announces.

He also stated that a condolence register has been opened at the branch secretariat located at flat 2, Block 16, FCDA Quarters, Kashim Ibrahim Way, off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja.
